Today, the Irish celebrate Wren Day or Lá an Dreoilín. The tradition involves hunting a wren and placing it atop a decorated pole. Then, crowds of mummers, or straw boys, celebrate the wren by dressing in masks, straw costumes and colorful motley clothing. They form music groups and parade through towns and villages. These mobs are sometimes called wrenboys. #mythology #myth #legend #calendar #December 26 #WrenDay #Ireland
