Bóndadagur, the men's festival

The master of the house was therefore supposed to stand up in front of the rest of the household on the first day of Þorri to welcome Þorri with a special ceremony:

He was to come out of the house wearing only his shirt and one trouser leg, and then hop around the house on one foot, dragging the other trouser leg behind him. After these strange shenanigans, a big party was held in the presence of people from the neighboring farms.

According to other accounts, Þorri was to be welcomed by the housewife, while the master of the house was to welcome the month of Góa (the fifth month of winter which began on a Sunday between February 18 and 24): The first day of Góa is Konudagur, a feast day of the housewife.
