12 little prophets

Today, the Armenian Church celebrates the 12 minor prophets. From the 8th to 4th centuries BCE, they are part of the Tanakh and the Old Testament. The Books include both autobiographical and biographical texts and oracles. First come the prophets dated from the beginning of the Assyrian period: Hosea, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah and Micah; Joel and part of the beginning of Amos. We can also find in Amos and Joel a description of an invasion of locusts. Next come the prophets set at the end of the Assyrian period: Nahum, Habakkuk and Zephaniah. Next come those set in the Persian period: Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, although some scholars date "Second Zechariah" to the Hellenistic era. #mythology #myth #legend #calendar #July 31 #12Little Prophets
