Today, the Kuki Nagas people of Nagaland in India celebrate Mim Kut. It expresses elation and triumph over the harvest of Mim (maize), which is the last harvest of the season. The festival notably celebrates the corn harvest. The Kuki people strongly believe that the souls of their deceased ancestors come out of their graves and visit their family homes.
