Our Lady of Kazan

Today, Russian Orthodox celebrate Our Lady of Kazan. The icon is very important to the Russian Church, it dates from 1572. The young Matrona Onoutchina, a little girl from Kazan, after the fire of the city in 1579, saw in a dream the Mother of God who showed her where there was a icon representing her which had been lost.
