Ziemassvētki

Today Latvians celebrate Ziemassvētki. Incorporated into Christmas, of which logs and Christmas trees still allude, this celebration dates back to the pre-Christian gods. The march of ķekatas, dressed in various masks, went from one village to another, to bring them blessings and drive away various evil spirits.
